His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam conferred Brunei Darussalam State Decorations to 36 recipients in conjunction with His Majesty's 79th Birthday Celebration. The conferment ceremony took place at Balai Singgahsana Indera Kenchana, Istana Nurul Iman, 2nd September afternoon.
Also present were His Majesty's sons and brother:
- His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office;
- His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik;
- His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen;
- And His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah.
His Majesty first conferred the Darjah Seri Ugama Islam Negara Brunei Yang Amat Bersinar Darjah Keempat, or The Most Eminent Order of Islam Brunei Fourth Class, SUB to an officer from the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
31 recipients were conferred the Darjah Setia Negara Brunei Yang Amat Bahagia Darjah Keempat, or The Most Blessed Order of Setia Negara Brunei Fourth Class, PSB. The recipients comprise officers of the Prime Minister's Office, His Majesty's Office, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education and private companies. The conferment of the State Decorations acts as a motivator for the recipients to continue to serve with excellence.
4 people were conferred the Darjah Seri Ugama Islam Negara Brunei Yang Amat Bersinar Darjah Kelima, or The Most Eminent Order of Islam Brunei Fifth Class, comprising officers from the Prime Minister's Office and the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
Doa Selamat was read by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti. Also present were Pengiran-Pengiran Cheteria; Cabinet Ministers; Members of Councils; Deputy Ministers; Pengiran-Pengiran Peranakan; Pehin-Pehin Manteri; Manteri-Manteri Hulubalang; Ambassadors; High Commissioners; Permanent Secretaries; Deputy Permanent Secretaries and Heads of Government Departments.
